Race Results 2006-2007
This year we had a pool of dogs ranging in age from 2 1/2 - 9. Since we hate leaving dogs at home or sitting on the bench, we may no longer be able to maintain 10+ miles an hour. The team did surprise us however with two fast finishes at Trappers and Bartlett. There are two phrases that kind of summed up our philosophy this season: “Ride the horse you've got” and “Do what you love, love what you do”. We dedicated this season to Osage, Nikki and Falcon. Three amazing sled dogs whose lives we were blessed to share. | ||

Irving Woodlands Eagle Lake 100 Driver: Bob O'Hearn Finished in 13th place out of a field of 24 teams with a combined time of 12:46 We mailed our registration the week entries opened and almost did not make the cut. With only one sled run on the team, a month till the UP200, and a few dogs with tender feet, we took it easy at this event. If there had been a Sportsmanship trophy awarded at this event, Bob would have likely earned it. Being the sportsman that he is, Bob had the distinct opportunity to rescue a driver-less team. No sled dog points this time around, but we met at least one of our goals: to finish with 10, happy and healthy sled dogs. Kudos to Peggy, for whom this was the longest race thus far in her career!  Dogs on the team: Raven, Jello, Kona, Saint, Cosmo-L, Rocky-L, Enzo, Peggy, Ginsing, Halley Trappers Special (two day - 8 dog class) Originally, the plan had been for Rhonda to field a 10 dog team. After a 9 hour road trip and no more than a dusting of snow on the ground for 8 1/2 hours, Rhonda got cold feet. Her decision worked out for the team. With only 5 runs using a sled since Eagle Lake, it did not seem fair to sit anyone out now. So in the end, we decided to enter two 7 dog teams in the mid-distance class. According to our GPS, the course mapped out at 22 miles.
